Can y’all believe the first month of 2019 is almost over?! I feel like these first few weeks of the year have literally flown by! I’ve been really overwhelmed lately and decided to take a moment yesterday and reflect on why I was feeling so exhausted and run down.
What I came to realize is that I have been filling my calendar with obligations and responsibilities, instead of things that make me happy and fill my cup. Without getting into the nitty gritty details, I was thrown into some responsibilities for a couple of weeks that I was not prepared for. I am such a planner, and having so much of my time outside of work completely devoted to a last minute responsibility TOTALLY threw me off. Don’t get me wrong, I was happy to help, but I definitely wish I had known in advance that this was going to be needed from me with the huge time capacity.
Instead of throwing myself a pity party though, I’ve decided to use this as a learning opportunity to how I can move forward in 2019 and be more intentional with my time. For me, that means making time for craft projects, playing with spaces in our house, blogging, going on date nights with my hubby, being involved in a growth groups at church, and making self care a priority (healthy eating, exercise, getting SLEEP).
I don’t want this to be another goal I set and forget about, so I decided to print a quote and put it in my craft room as a reminder of this promise I’m making myself.
“Do more of what makes you happy” really just seems like the perfect mindset I have right now as I head into February.
