I can’t believe it’s December… but what I’m in more shock over is that a year ago today I made the switch to Jackie Anne Blog and this happens to also be my 100th blog post!! Today’s blog is sort of a thank you letter to YOU!
All I can say is thank you! I am so thankful for each and every one of you who follow and support this blog. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be able to curate Jackie Anne Blog. I truly mean that.
For those of you who are my OG followers, and actually started following me when I started my instagram and blog with the intention of sharing teaching content- thank you for sticking around and supporting me when I transitioned the direction of my blog to home and wellness. I actually made the switch exactly a year ago today, and I went into why I made the change in THIS post if you want to read about the reasons behind the switch. But to briefly summarize why I transitioned what content I shared, although I love my teaching job, I didn’t feel like blogging about teaching in my free time was a healthy balance. What honestly makes me happy is simple home and DIY projects and living a healthy lifestyle. I realized I would much rather share things on my blog that made me happy rather than my lesson plans. Home and wellness topics are the things I love to share and be inspired by, and I’m so thankful for this space to do just that! If you didn’t support me when I made the change, then I wouldn’t be able to say Jackie Anne Blog has been a thing for a year! Thank you SO much for your support this past year!
To all of you, new and OG friends, thank you for supporting me in creating this blog. You’ve given me the ability to have a space to share my passions, and for that I’m truly grateful. This little blog is a passion project of mine, and I am so blessed I have the platform to share home and wellness ideas that may inspire you or make your life a little easier. I feel honored that you let me into your life and keep up with me for inspiration. When I get a message that you’ve tried one of my recent blog ideas, it makes my heart so happy! I truly love knowing that this little corner on the internet is bringing joy to someone else’s life. That’s my why – I do this little blog thing so I can hopefully bring a little happiness and attainable inspiration to your world.
Lastly, thank you for sticking around when my life gets a little crazy. My goal is to always be consistent on the blog and on my instagram so you can rely on me for regular inspiration. But sometimes life gets in the way, especially with the amount of weekend travel we have had the past year, and I can’t always meet these goals. I’ve also been pretty open about my anxiety on the blog, and this past year was a pretty challenging year for my anxiety. When my anxiety is high, I don’t feel like I can pour into this space. I’m not sure if it’s because I find it overwhelming, or because I want to keep this space authentic. For me, that means if devoting my time and energy to the blog is going to make my overall health suffer, I’m not going to do it, especially since I try to be an advocate for wellness and taking care of yourself. I’m proud and happy to report that for a while now I have finally felt like myself pre-anxiety, but it’s still something I work at every day. And kind of a side note (but it’s important) – thank you for sending an outpouring of support, not judgement, in me opening up about anxiety. I’ve had some harsh, uneducated comments made about my anxiety, and so I was nervous to share on the blog initially. But, I try to be authentic, and I knew I needed to chat about it. Thank you for your messages of support and love, it means everything to me! Thank you for continuing to support me and follow this blog, even when I went through seasons of inconsistency because of #life. Your words of encouragement, positivity, and inspiration help me get through those crazy life seasons, and I’m truly thankful for you.
Direction of the blog?
As we wrap up 2019 and head into 2020, I’m starting to think about the direction of the blog the next year. You want my honest answer? I’m really not sure. I know I’ll continue to share home and wellness ideas, since these are the two areas in my life that bring me the most joy and I love to chat about. But, there’s a lot of unknowns in 2020 for me – mainly due to my husband graduating medical school and we will likely be moving and starting a new chapter with residency. I’m not sure where we’re going and what our life will look like this upcoming year, but I’m excited to take you on for the ride!
Thank you again for not only supporting me, but also inspiring me! This little community has become something I value deeply, and I can’t thank you enough for being a part of it.
